How this is measured
For every freeway direction with at least a week of history, we average the speeds road sensors recorded at each hour of each weekday, take the slowest hour between 6 and 10 am or 3 and 7 pm (Monday to Friday averaged together), and compare it with the same freeway at midday (10 am to 2 pm). Speeds are averages along the whole freeway within the area, so the worst single stretch is slower still. Updated as new readings come in.
